Police recommend nursing home develops suspicious death protocol

Police have recommended that a nursing home develop protocols for dealing with suspicious deaths after the killing of an elderly dementia sufferer in 2012. The second day of an inquest into the death of Charles McCulloch, 94, heard that police gathered enough evidence to charge another male resident with murder, but prosecutors decided it was not in the public interest, given the suspect's severe dementia.
