THE Aquino administration has released P1.2 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the social pension of 200,000 indigent senior citizens, the Department of Budget and Management said Tuesday. Under Section 5 of Republic Act 9994 , elderly indigents can receive additional government assistance in the form of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, which amounts to a monthly stipend of P500.
